We created this piece for a production of Turandot at Walt Disney Concert Hall sewing two Manhattan Opera Coats together, placing in an additional yard of fabric to make an extension and finished by adding horsehair to the ruffles to give it more structure achieving a look that was inspired by the 1920s. At the waist we opened one of the ruffles for a belt allowing the ruffle to maintain volume.
